At a time when embassies were at rest and homins were lounging on lake beaches, he had a little time on his hands to clear his head and return to his first favorite pastime: scientific research. [[User:Eolinius|Eolinius]] quickly consulted his first notebooks, which he had written as a young man, with a smile, taking a sip of his favorite summer drink. He had abandoned the traditional Byrh for [[Sparàn|Sparàn]] juice with a few drops of Shooki, which was much more propitious at this time of year.

He took out a brand-new notebook, wrote number three on it and then turned the first page, applying himself to writing the title of his new study: Weapons of the Karavan.

But he had long been intrigued by the Karavaners and their strange weapons. He had spent long periods of time in Silan's Karavan enclave, seemingly nonchalantly waiting for someone who never came. Since the Karavaners didn't use their weapons without reason, he had to provoke fate by going unnoticed to pick on the caprynis passing by, then whistle back and get his [[Luciography|lucios]] device ready to catch the Karavaners in the act. He wondered how he hadn't yet been caught spying, especially the day he'd had to hide his [[Luciography|lucios]] device in a giant gingerbread loaf to get close to the Karavan officer. They must have thought he was crazy. Another time, he'd hung his camera from an izam in the embassy to get a view of the whole scene.

He intended to deposit his results in the Federation archives, but was more reserved about contacting [[The_FISHES_society|The FISHES society]]. Although it was a Tryker research center, its members had been in the news lately, and not on the best of terms. The engineer Be'Arroy Arty, sent to filter well water in the Fyros hinterland, had been found after more than a decade with the Zorais, along with Emmen O' Banon, who had also disappeared and been found in the jungle working on goo. Or, until recently, the story of [[Orphie_Dradius|Orphie Dradius]], contacted just before her strange death in the kitiniere by [[Tepsen_Be'Laroy|Be'Laroy Tepsen]]. It was getting to be a lot.
