He's one of the homins from the Water Trainers tribe, who have gone off to drill at the Forbidden Spring. His group is captured by mysterious red-eyed fyros. Pephoan manages to avoid capture by going into hiding.

Some time later, we learn that he has entered the Imperial Academy to train as a soldier. He has not forgotten his quest to find his missing companions. We then find him following a trail leading to a cave containing the head of one of his captured comrades and a large extinguished inferno.

He is currently an imperial soldier garrisoned in Pyr.
