Organic architecture is a discipline dealing with the principles of design and construction of living buildings and is a specialisation of Matisian Botany. Most commonly organic architecture is used to design and create buildings and on larger scale, cities for the Matis; these designs often make use of trees and large plants, specially selected depending on its purpose. Quite often the furnishings of the aforementioned buildings are also part of the plants and trees used in construction and thus their design, creation and maintenance also falls under organic architecture.
Organic architects
People studying and applying organic architecture are called organic architects. They are responsible for plant and tree selection and to design the buildings that will come out of them, they are also responsible for maintenance of living buildings, both interior and exterior maintenance.
Organic architects don't always just work with the living though, they may also work with the dead. They play an important role in Matis society by creating the "sap houses", special cocoons used for extracting the sap of a deceased Matis so that the sap can be injected into the living houses of the deceased's relatives.
