Grass whose tiny seeds gather in a pendulous plume, the pocea is known in Witherings as ba-che.
Seeds of the pocea crushed into a very fine flour are used in many Matis culinary preparations.
This plant blooms in spring in tiny clusters of white flowers while the stem twists.
Pocea's fibre is used to weave a strong canvas, much liked by painters.
