Called pocea by the Matis, it is a grass with very small seeds gathered in a pendulous plume.
The seeds of ba-che, once crushed into a very fine flour, are used in many culinary preparations.
This plant blooms (tiny clusters of white flowers) in the spring, when its stem is curved into a spiral.
Its fibres are used for braiding zoraï ground carpets.
