Example of what you'll see after clicking the "diff" button.

Recent changes patrol is a feature that can help to decrease redundancy with many people checking the same edit.

It will highlight edits on recent changes which have not been marked as "patrolled" by another user.

This is a feature open to any logged in user. Unchecked edits appear with an exclamation mark (!) next to them. To patrol recent changes:

  1. Click a diff link in the recent changes list.
  2. After you click on the diff link, you will be taken to a page with a [Mark as patrolled] link. If the edit is fine, click on Mark as Patrolled to remove the exclamation mark from recent changes.
  3. If the edit is vandalism, you should revert it by clicking the rollback button.

The feature can be enabled or disabled on any wiki on request, either completely (ask for the setting $wgUseRCPatrol) or enabled for admins only (ask for the setting $wgOnlySysopsCanPatrol). This feature is currently disabled by default. It is always possible for admins to patrol page creation through Special:NewPages, though.

For users with the patrol right, the patrol log isn't shown on the cumulative log by default.
