Revision as of 14:29, 16 April 2020
The wikis are mainly managed by homins (players), your wiki account won't be create in 5 sec (it's planned you can soon login with your homin name and account password, but for now it's nearly all manual) ... Therefore, thanks to:
- in Username: better choose your homin name (but you can choose an other toon too, and add in Real name your main homin, or anything else, as we don't need your IRL name or CV LOL)
- check your email on the form (automatic check, from Ryzom wiki).
- write some text in Additional notes, because we need to know where we will create your wiki profile (your main profile can be added on the English or German or French or Spanish or Russian wiki) - see the top menu ?
- Clic button "Request account" and check your inbox's email because:
- first, you will receive an automatic email (to check the email you provided) from Ryzom Wiki. If you don't, check your spam folder or maybe a mistype on the form below - contact https://chat.ryzom.com/channel/pj-ryzom_wiki rather than CSR (who will contact us anyway but it will be longer LOL).
- then a wiki contributor (not a CSR) will validate your account, and create your profile on one of the 5 wiki, regarding your native language. You will be able to correct all pages, in the different wikis.

A way of joining the community
Becoming known under a user name means that you will be able to gain reputation and recognition in the community. You can also make a personal user page once you are logged in (ask for help if we didn't create it yet). The link to your user page will appear at the top right of the screen. You will also have a personal talk page, and will be notified with a banner each time someone adds a message. Being able to communicate easily makes it a lot easier to build a wiki.
Waiting for your account creation, you can start read some help on Writing Guide and (advanced users) the Wiki Technical Guide.
Features
Being logged in allows you to rename pages (with the "move" tab) and to upload images. You can also easily view your contributions using the "my contributions" link at the top of the screen, and make a personal watchlist to keep an eye on your favourite articles.
All images (for all languages) are hosted on the common wiki. You don't need to create an account on it, as all users are common to the 6 wikis.
Customisation
A lot of the look of the site can be changed with customisation. Using the "preferences" link, you can change the overall look of the site, your time-zone preferences, search settings, and much more. If you know CSS, then you can change the look of the site even further with your personal style sheet.
So please consider creating an account and logging in. It's free, and very easy. Click here to go to the log-in page.

In 2020, most of this page is Obsolete. Since, we merge several wikis (the French wiki is the one with the most pages), there's now 6 wikis. More on
Anonymity under your chosen user name
Although those editing logged-out are often called "anons" on wikis (identified by IP number) it doesn't exist any more on Ryzom wikis. This is publicly visible in the history page and recent changes each time they edit. For many people (for example those using AOL or other large Internet service providers) this doesn't give any information to others. But in some cases, for example if you are editing from a work computer, this may allow others to work out your location or other details. If you are worried about this, you should log in to edit. Your IP address will then not be visible to other contributors.- ↑ We need English native readers and contributors, as the main contributors are now French. You can ask help to active users or using the public RC channel at https://chat.ryzom.com/channel/pj-ryzom_wiki
