After Mediawiki, Pywikibot is a Python library and collection of scripts that automate work on MediaWiki sites. Originally designed for Wikipedia, it is now used throughout the Wikimedia Foundation's projects and on many other wikis. We try in these page to summarize the essential steps to install Pywikibot and describe the main uses.
Warning
Pywikibot is a powerful tool. As any powerful tools it may be very useful but also can be the cause of much damage, thus useless time to repair them. Even if you are skillfull with computer things, do NOT try to use it before you are familiar with this wiki family and its explicit or implicit conventions.
Because of its power, more attention is required on pages preparation (categories, portals, page set-up, templates especially inter languages ones...) or the time gain may be reduced to zero by the corrections you would have to perform.
