Toolmaker is one of the 8 occupations, and one of the 2 taught by the Fyros. Of those two, it is the easier occupation, taking place in the normal regions of the Burning Desert. It mostly involves quartering and/or foraging specific materials, and crafting several light melee weapons. The consumables created by this occupation give a bonus to stamina regeneration.
Known issue: The mission descriptions for this occupation are lacking a number of "or", so that it seems like you need to do every task you are told while in fact you only need to do either of the tasks. See the mission sections for more details.
Special Item
Improved Tool
- Gives +10% yield on a single occupation practice, but only if basic components are used.
- You are given the option to use it if you have one in your inventory when you begin practising your occupation with basic components.
- If you chose to use it, it is used up in the process.
You'll receive one Improved Tool when you take on the toolmaker occupation, and one whenever you retake the mission while you're already a toolmaker (possible every 2 days).
Created Item
Using 4 Materials for the Handle and 4 Materials for the Main Element, you can create a number of Tools.
Tools can only be used while sitting down, and they increase your balance and thus your stamina regeneration for a short time.
The most basic form is the Q10 Basic Tool. It takes 1 second to consume, and increases your balance by 100 for 10 seconds. This effectively gives you +40 stamina regeneration (or +80 stamina regeneration if you're sitting down) during those 10 seconds. It prevents the use of any other occupation products for 20 seconds.
Mission 1
Grade 1
Hand a number of raw materials over to Abyan Zessen, the Overseer around the corner from the Master Toolmaker. Once you complete the mission by handing over the right materials you'll receive a Materials for the Handle. There are 4 options for which raw materials to hand in:
- Either 2 basic or 2 fine izam leather of at least quality 20.
- Either 2 basic or 2 fine fragment of capryni hoof of at least quality 20.
- 3 choice adriel bark from any of the 4 ecosystems (not PR) of at least quality 20.
- 3 choice abhaya wood from any of the 4 ecosystems (not PR) of at least quality 20.
It's random which option you get. Once you hand in the materials, you'll randomly get a new option (which may be the same one again). You can also abandon and retake the mission from Zemolion Aeros at any time to get a new random option.
Note that it looks from the mission description as if you need both basic and fine of the quartered materials, and 3 of each ecosystem for the foraged materials, but in fact you can chose. You don't need to gather the materials for yourself either, as long as you're the one handing them in.
Higher grades
At higher grades, you'll need to hand in materials of higher qualities, and you'll also need more of them. The kind of materials you need will also change. The mission will otherwise work the same, still giving you the choice between basic or fine for quartered materials and between the 4 ecosystems for foraged materials.
- Grade 2: Needs 4 igara leather, 4 mektoub pelvis, 6 choice eyota wood, or 6 choice beckers bark, of at least quality 40.
- Grade 3: Needs 6 lumper skin, 6 varinx bone, 9 choice perfling bark, or 9 choice silvio seed, of at least quality 60.
Mission 2
Grade 1
Hand a basic melee weapon over to the Master Toolmaker. Once you complete the mission by handing over the right weapon you'll receive a Materials for the Main Element. There are 4 options for which weapon to hand in:
- A basic quality dagger from any race of at least quality 20.
- A basic quality staff from any race of at least quality 20.
- A basic quality 1-handed axe from any race of at least quality 20.
- A basic quality 1-handed mace from any race of at least quality 20.
Again it's random which option you get, and once you hand in the weapon, you'll randomly get a new option (which may be the same one again). And you can also abandon and retake the mission from Zemolion Aeros at any time to get a new random option.
Here too it looks from the mission description as if you need a weapon from each of the 4 races, but in fact you can chose. You don't need to be the one to craft the weapon either, as long as you're the one handing it in.
Higher grades
At higher grades, you'll need to hand in weapons of higher qualities, but the mission will otherwise work the same.
- Grade 2: Needs basic quality weapons of at least quality 40.
- Grade 3: Needs basic quality weapons of at least quality 60.
