The ocyx is immediately distinguishable by its exoskeleton which forms an impressive body defense. This predator is equipped with a powerful mussel characterized by two sharp canine teeth protruding from the lower mandible, and long claws. The lacerating bony tail which balances the heavy head also constitutes a formidable weapon. This carnivore occurs in the forests and deserts, and more rarely in jungle areas.[1]
