A plant whose pinnate, well developed compound leaves, or fronds, are of a large size.
The fibrous roots are connected to the stem to form a rhizome.
Note that all arinos are females. On the New Lands, the most beautiful specimens are no doubt to be found in the Heretic's Hovel.
Matis extract an effective vermicide from the arino. Fat young fronds are eaten raw.
Some botanists have confused the arino with a variety of stalked plants of the Jungle whose name is therefore similar, the arinish.
