The big kibans of the Prime Roots are sometimes called "floating cities" because they shine with myriads of small lights like a tryker village at night on a lake in the distance.
"Surface" kibans were seen in the Dark Mines at a time when passage was possible.
It is assumed that the kiban can be used as a food reserve for other kitins.
