Methods of measurement of kitin characteristics

Speed

  • Establish an unobstructed straight running line 100 m long, with a recognizable finish point (shrub...), nearby the kitin whose running speed you want to measure.
  • Taunt the kitin and stand at the starting point, making sure that the kitin is on your back and you are facing the finish point you set.
  • Start your acceleration, but don't move.
  • Shout and then race to the finish point.
  • Wait for the kitin to catch you up and to strike your back.

The time between your scream at start and its first strike at finish is counted as the time it takes for the kitin to cover 100 m. Repeat the operation two more times for each species of kitin (it is possible, depending on the timing, that the kitin has made a bad start). Acceleration is necessary to prevent the kitin from launching an attack while pursuing, which would slow it down. Yet here we are looking for its pure speed.

Vitality

  • Form a team counting several mages of destruction.
  • Isolate a target kitin with a melee fighter, whose mission will be only to put up with its blows.
  • At the signal, the mages kill the kitin as quickly as possible, to minimize the effect of its natural regeneration.
  • Cumulate the damage caused by each mage to know the vitality of the kitin.

Offensive magic is the most precise, which makes it possible to know the exact remaining life of the kitin at the moment of the blow which finishes it off.

Attack pace

  • Taunt a kitin and stand apart with it.
  • Get on your knees (for not to parry nor dodge), letting a remote healer takes care of you.
  • Put up with the blows without flinching for two to three minutes.
  • Divide the period of time by the number of attacks to determine their pace.

Caution: use by the kitin of its special blows affects the result. It is advisable to repeat the operation at least once. Locate its special blows and how long it takes the kitin to prepare them.
