Files to save
A folder to backup: save
Here are the main file to backup (where avatar is the name of your toon):
- keys_avatar.xml has keyboards shortcuts and macros
- groups_avatar.xml jewels/armor/tools groups
- landmarks_avatar.xml landmarks saved on your map
- log_avatar.xml (if activated) the logs of your toon (chats)
- channels_avatar.xml More on New2019/JY_2603_Documentation#Dynamic channels restoration
Note
You can share your macros (several toons on the same PC) using a single shared_keys.xml. To do this, you need to rename your keys_avatar.xml file (if a keys_avatar.xml exists in the folder, shared_keys.xml won't be used).
FYI:
- contactgroups_avatar.xml to change which contact is in which group (having quit the game) - linked to the Patch 00834 (2020/09).
- log_avatar.txt is generated by the command /chatLog - more at Special command. Use it with the webapp Chat log decoder or https://ryzom.kervala.net/logs.php
- interface_avatar.icfg in a binary file (that can't be opened with a simple editor)
Linux
With Ryzom Installer
- Data (Client executable + client_default.cfg + Data) is in $HOME/.local/share/Ryzom/{server_id}, server_id beeing "ryzom_live" by default
- Profile (screenshots, save, user, client.cfg)is in $HOME/.local/share/Ryzom/{ProfileNumber}
With Steam
You'll need to find your SteamLibrary folder where your games are saved, (default location is $HOME/steam/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Ryzom) and find the Ryzom folder inside.
- Data (Client executable + client_default.cfg + data) is directly in that folder
- Profile (screenshots, save, user, client.cfg) is also directly in that folder
Windows Vista or newer
With Ryzom Installer
- Data (Client executable + client_default.cfg + Data) is in C:\Users\{YourName}\AppData\Local\Ryzom\{server_id}, server_id beeing "ryzom_live" by default
- Profile (screenshots, save, user, client.cfg)is in C:\Users\{YourName}\AppData\Roaming\Ryzom\{ProfileNumber}
Note : You can access the AppData folder by typing %appdata% in the start search box

You'll need to find your Steam library folder where your games are saved, default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Ryzom but you can change it.
- Data (Client executable + client_default.cfg + data) is directly in that folder
- Profile (screenshots, save, user, client.cfg) is also directly in that folder
Windows XP
XP is not supported by MicroSoft for several years (GNU Linux are fine for old PCs). With patch JY 2603, we discovered that XP users had issues. With Ryzom Installer

- Profile (screenshots, save, user, client.cfg) is in C:\Documents and Settings\{YourName}\Application Data\Ryzom\{ProfileNumber}
With Steam
You'll need to find your Steam library folder where your games are saved, default location is C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Ryzom but you can change it.
- Data (Client executable + client_default.cfg + Data) is also directly in that folder
- Profile (screenshots, save, user, client.cfg) is also directly in that folder
