The Kitin & The Karavan is a chain of events running in 2011. It is currently ongoing so not much definite can be said about it yet.

The main storyline revolved around Kitin activity stirring up in the Kitins' Lair, and the Karavan undertaking explorations into the Kitins' Lair.

The official thread for this event line can be found here.

Summaries of Events

  • Karavan Researcher: See the separate article Event:Karavan Researcher.
  • The Kitin & The Karavan: Nisti Tinanti, Royal Kitinologist, asked the Nobles for permission to move his entire research crew to Almati Wood to assist the Karavan in their research, knowing this would mean working with all races instead of serving the Matis. Permission was granted.
  • The Kitin & The Karavan (Ongoing): A second expedition into the Kitins' Lair was organised. This one ended in disaster as the Kitin attacked and successfully drove the expedition out. Following this Nisti Tinanti made a public request for anyone who noticed anything odd about any Kitin to report it to him.
  • Deamla's Odyssey: Retired Fyros general Deamla organised an expedition into the Kitin Nest at Desert Stock in Knot of Dementia. After a single failed attempt the homin army managed to peneprate the nest and kill the Kitin Queen.
  • Collections: Nisti Tinanti asked for Kitin specimens to be acquired from within the Kitins' Lair.

  Official Announcement

Deles Silam homins,

To get a general idea about the changing situation in the Kitin Lair at Almati Wood, the Royal College invites all homins on 8h - Prima, Pluvia 7, 2nd AC 2557(JY)* to participate in an expedition into the depths of the lair. Both combative and inquisitive homins are needed.

The Atys Rangers have agreed to help lead the expedition through the lair. I, Nisti Tinanti, will take part in the expedition as the scientific leader.

I hope for lively participation.

  Nisti Tinanti, Royal Kitinologist

Deles Silam,

The Kitin research is continuing at a slower pace than expected. Though many homin were present at the recent venture into the Kitins' Lair, the project did not proceed as planned as our presence only seemed to incite the Kitin there.

Since my analysis was not completed I ask any who venture into the Kitin base to remain observant and to post your findings on this bulletin. In particular I did not collect data from the Observation Platform, which according to the original notes, looks over a trench, and the Pantry, which uses some type of skeleton for food storage.

I am also seeking information regarding Kitins from all possible sources that might have something to do with current events. Additional postings of any research from any source should also be posted on this bulletin. Please site the source of all information for further clarification or if additional research is required.

As mentioned at the expedition, I see a need for specimen collection in the near future. The Karavan Researcher and I are now determining which materials, in particular, will be needed to further this research project. As soon as a decision has been reached, you will be notified.

  Nisti Tinanti, Royal Kitinologist

Oren Pyr homins!

My forays into the kitin areas have led me to the Kitins' nest base in the Witherings locally known as "Desert Stock." With horror I have discovered that even here the activities of these vile creatures have grown! This has apparently been missed by the recent research of the Karavan and the Atys Rangers.

Unfortunately, I no longer have the strength of my youth to fight the omnivorous horde alone. I therefore call on all eligible homins to come with me to show the kitins that we will not let ourselves be intimidated by their plans to assume control over Atys! For simplicity's sake, I choose as the meeting place at the Kami teleporter in Zora. I will wait for all supporters for this initiative on 8h - Tria, Nivia 27, 3rd AC 2557(JY)*.

  Deamla

Deles Silam homins of all peoples,

After scrupulous consideration, the Karavan Researcher and I have determined the Kitin specimens required for further analysis of the changes in Almati Wood. The Royal Academy is therefore entrusted with the task of organizing the collection of these specimens and consequently requires help of all brave homin.

For further research, I ask the following to be collected, at the minimum, from the lair in the Almati Wood:

100 Kipee secretions of at least q200 75 Kipesta wing of at least q230 50 Kirosta secretions of at least q250

The collected samples can be immediately released to the Assistant Royal Kitinologist near the Ranger Camp in Almati Wood. The more samples that are collected, the more information we can learn about the Kitins' Lair. The Karavan require the samples by the latest 8h - Tria, Frutor 27, 4th AC 2557(JY)*.

Because of the importance of this research, this inquiry is directed to all homins, regardless of their origin or belief.

  Nisti Tianti, Royal Kitinologist

Deles Silam homins of Atys,

The Assistant Royal Kitionologist has reported to me that very few samples have been collected. I fear that without a substantial amount of samples we will not gain the knowledge we will need to assess the true threat of the Kitin activity in the Kitins' Lair.

I urge each and every able bodied homin to gather up your guild and associates to coordinate maximum safe collecting parties. It is imperative that these samples are gathered as soon as possible.

  Nisti Tianti, Royal Kitinologist
