The armadoid is a species of gigantic pachyderm living in the sea of wood. It looks a little like a giant arma, with its mouth level at ground level. It utters terrible mooing noises that can sometimes be heard can sometimes be heard when approaching the edge of cliffs in the New Lands (in the Matis forest or Silan, for example) and its slow footsteps make the shake the ground. In the totally deserted areas of the Seas of Wood where almost nothing grows, only armadillos seem to be able to get by to cope, feeding on the few shoots that do grow by scraping the ground. Its only predators, apart from the homin, are the giant yetins of the verdant continent, who venture into the sea of wood to hunt.

Armadai meat is very nutritious, and they are hunted by homins. To do so, they dig large holes in the ground and arrange for the beast to fall into the hole so that they can finish it off with throwing weapons.

The armadai goes by other names, depending on the people along the Oflovak route, the name armadai being more commonly used in Fort-le-Phare.

The existence of armadai was revealed to the homins of the New Lands when the two fyros Azazor and Eeri returned from their journey to Coriolis[1].
