From Ryzom Wiki
This is a list of Ryzom Servers.
Currently Ryzom has 1 active servers (one for all languages), and a separate server for dev/tests features. Historically there have been more servers that no longer exist.
All new Ryzom Server to replace the old ones
Server for the developers to test stuff on.
Ring is disabled.
Currently Ryzom has 3 active servers, one for each language, and a separate server for all the Ring features. Historically there have been more servers that no longer exist.
The 3 servers each have their own Customer Service Representatives, their own Event Team, and their own history and timeline (the servers share their history up until launch, but from then on have gone in their own directions).
Any player can make characters on any server, but once a character is made, it cannot be transferred to another server unless in extraordinary circumstances.
There's a separate server for Ring scenarios, so that any Ring scenario can be joined by players from all servers. Thus the Ring is the only place where characters from different servers can meet.
Advanced Test Server (ATS)
The ATS was used in order to test the next features that would be available in Ryzom. Access was restricted to selected players.

Windermeer was one of the two original English-speaking shards when Ryzom was released in 2004. Later Windermeer was merged with Arispotle and was closed down. All players that called Windermeer their home were awarded the title "Wayfarer".
