Resume

Biography

  • Officer in the guild of the Rangers of Atys,
  • Fighter and scout,
  • Under the direction of Orphie Dradius, he advises and guides the rapidly growing Rangers.
  • To prepare training for aspiring Rangers, he goes to the old bark in 2572 where He disappears. The last message from him is from Mystia 17, 1st CA 2572.
  • Wuaoi Yai-Zhio succeeded him at the Active Rangers.

His teaching before he disappeared

Excerpts from speeches by Wilk Potskin, in front of the aspiring rangers gathered at the Almati Woods [1].

Our Mission

Many of you have already met us during the second invasion, on Silan or even in that camp. Our main goal is to protect the homins from the kitins.

The Rangers are still on Atys, to patrol and monitor, but also to deal with the powers and politics, because that's also very important. These are missions that the Rangers have to perform, and because these missions are complex, so is our structure.

You can't imagine the difficulties we have to face when we have to help the Rangers who have been sent to the Old Lands or even to the Kitins' Lair. That's why the Rangers have been trained to survive in really dangerous conditions.

Ranger Means of Transportation

Rangers don't use rainbows.

We have our own way of traveling around Atys. Qualified Rangers can, of course, go to the bounties and the most dangerous areas of the nations. People here have traveled the Ranger way before, but so far it hasn't been safe.

The nations zones are much safer than the Roots Bounty, you must be a qualified Ranger to access them.

The Dangers of Being a Ranger

Not every Ranger risks his life every day.

Without logistics or ambassadors, the Rangers would not exist. These Rangers are valuable guardians to answer the question completely: we need your help.

How do I become a Ranger?

Ranger meeting, Wilk in the middle (Lucio: Kiwalie)

First you should practice. When your training is complete, then you could become a Ranger.

We're not ready to give this training yet, Orphie Dradius and Melga Folgore are working on the details.

The Rangers and the Nations are allies. And we also have a good relationship with the Powers. Every Ranger must follow that philosophy. Still, you may prefer the Baths of Pyr or the Fairhaven Bar. We're discussing it, but there will be a way for a homin aligned with a religion or a nation to be recognised as a Ranger.

Before you can become a Ranger, you have to train. This training is open to all pro-homins, not just neutrals. Even so, this training will not allow you to become a Ranger, but only a Prowler. A homin who has been a Patroller long enough can become a Ranger if he succeeds in a particular mission. But we can only give that mission to a homin who follows the Ranger philosophy. If you want to become a Ranger and not just a Patroller, you will have to improve your reputation with Nations and Powers. Then you can assist us in our future projects.

The position of the Rangers against the Marauders?

As long as they help us fight the Kitins, their help is welcome. As I said, we are allies of the Nations and supported by the Powers. We will not tolerate their actions if they adversely affect our fight against the Kitins.
